 Lesson 1  A private conversation

2. The text and totes on the text

Last week (Last week是时间状语。 I went to the theatre. (to the theatre是地点状语。go to the theatre, 去看戏。 go to the theatre = go to the theatre to see a play, I had a good seat. The play was very interesting. It is an interesting news. This is an interesting story. I didn’t enjoy it. (这里enjoy当“欣赏”讲)A young man and a young woman were sitting behind me. 时态为过去进行时)They were talking loudly. 时态为过去进行时)I got very angry. 而 I was very angry. I could not hear the actors. (could是can的过去式I turned round. (turn round = turn around 转身、回过头去)I looked at the man and woman angrily. (angrily是方式状语)They did not pay any attention. (pay(给予) any(任何) attention(注意))In the end, (In the end 最后,终于;表示经过一段较长的时间。)I could not bear it. (bear n 熊;同义词:stand)I turned round again. ‘I can’t hear a word!’ I said angrily.

‘It’s none of your business,’ the young man said rudely. ‘This is a private conversation!’(‘It’s none of your business,’是宾语从句-直接引语,时态为一般现在时;‘This is a private conversation!’
